Derby Walks
is an on-going initiative developed by Derby Health Collaborative partners to get the community moving for at least 30 minutes each day. Derby Walks is an independent walking program that encourages residents to commit to daily fitness walking.  All ages and abilities can participate. Walking is easy and it works!

Join today by printing out the "login instructions" above, signing the "Fitness Pledge Form" and clicking on the "Start" Walking above link to become part of the initiative.

Tuesday, September 4 will mark the start of our second Derby Walks competition. The competition will run through May 15, 2013. For this competition, we will award the top three finishers by minutes walked and/or exercised. Please continue to log your minutes just as you have previously. For those who have already logged minutes, we will note your total as of September 4 and begin tracking from that total forward. Our prizes at 1,000 (water bottle), 3,000 (backpack or ear buds) and 6,000 (jump rope) minutes remain the same.

If you have any questions, please contact Terry Bourlard, Community Wellness Coordinator with the Derby Recreation Commission at terry@derbyrec.com or at 788-3781. Good luck!

We will recognize the top school in Derby Walks for the 2nd quarter of the school year, as well as two other schools for their outstanding participation, at the March 25 USD 260 Board of Education meeting.
